This is a simple screen saver written because I needed something like this.

I did not see any other screen saver that would iterate through several directories and show all the images in them. Most tried to do fancy things and either crashed or showed junk on the screen.

Double click on it. System Preferences should start and ask whether you want to install it for the user or for the whole system. It does not really matter.

By default it will scan your Pictures folder in you home folder and start a slide show changing the pictures every 5 seconds. No special effects. You can change the duration and the folders in the Options sheet of the screen saver.

Known Bugs

  1. The preview pane will only respond to changes in the configuration once you quit the System Preferences and start again. If you use Test or any other way of starting the screen saver, it will be active immediately.

Source Code

It is a XCode 1.2 project and should compile on any Mac OS X 10.3 and later computer.

Operating Systems

Currently there is support for the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.2.x and 10.3.x
